Julie Farkas is a seasoned designer with over 30 years of corporate design experience. She is the founder of Julie Farkas Graphic Design (JFGD), located in Bergen County, New Jersey.

Over the course of her career, Farkas has worked the gamut of the field — from the small projects to the big ones. “Making my clients look great is what I love to do. I am a problem solver and am always excited by the infinite possibilities of every project I accept. I appreciate clients who value and can recognize good design. Mediocrity is not my thing. A strong client/designer partnership is the only way to rise above what is average. I take pride in my ability to deliver unique, appropriate and relevant design solutions to any project. I listen, I envision and I make it happen.”

Through humble beginnings, this designer discovered her talent as an artist — a product of small town America, Julie grew up in Frederick Maryland. “I was always creative and was very lucky to discover my talent in my early years. I never lost focus of my goal in wanting to contribute to society through art and design,” she says.  From Frederick to Philly, Farkas graduated from Moore College of Art with a degree in Graphic Design.

After college her journey continued north — only because she met a Brooklyn boy — and landed her in the big city of New York. Her corporate career included working in the creative services departments of companies such as McGraw Hill and Ziff Davis. She also worked in the consumer packaging industry. And before going out on her own, she was a Senior Designer and the Studio Manager at Hadassah.

“A good designer must always be an artist first. What I enjoy most about my career, is that every day is a new artistic adventure and I am always learning. Creativity is one of the greatest pleasures in life and I seek to share it with; and to inspire all of those who enter into my world.”

Farkas lives in Northern New Jersey with her husband. She has 3 adult children. In her spare time, she loves to draw, paint, swim and learn new things.
